PELAHATCHIE, Miss. — A tree crashed into a home on the 300 block of Munsterman Avenue during severe weather, trapping two individuals inside on [insert date].
According to Rankin County Emergency Management Director Brian Grantham, emergency crews responded to the scene and successfully rescued both individuals, who suffered minor injuries.
Witnesses reported hearing hail followed by a loud crash moments before the tree fell. One victim recounted the experience, stating, “Scary. I kept screaming and it felt like nobody could hear me. I got my arm out and started making noise and they had to pull me out.”
In addition to the human rescues, emergency personnel also recovered a puppy buried in the debris. No fatalities have been reported.
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation, and roadways may be impacted due to ongoing cleanup efforts.
