MADISON (WKOW) — A 39-year-old man remains in critical condition following a single-vehicle crash that killed three people and a dog on Madison's southwest side early Saturday.
The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on the 6800 block of Cross Country Road. According to the Madison Police Department, the group had left a local tavern before traveling east on Cross Country Road at a high rate of speed when the vehicle rolled, ejecting all four occupants.
A 31-year-old woman, a 43-year-old woman, and a 51-year-old man were pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that neither the driver nor the passengers were wearing seat belts, and noted that speed and impairment were contributing factors in the crash.
Authorities have not released the names of the deceased, and the investigation remains ongoing.
