15-Year-Old Killed in Adams County Car Crash
A 15-year-old girl from Harvard, Nebraska, died following a two-car accident in Adams County on Monday at 7 a.m. at the intersection of 42nd Street and Heartland Avenue.
According to the Adams County Sheriff's Department, a southbound pickup truck collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by a 15-year-old from Hastings. Both drivers were transported to Mary Lanning Memorial Healthcare in Hastings.
A passenger from the Harvard vehicle, also aged 15, was transported to the same hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed that seatbelts were worn by both the driver and the passenger of the eastbound vehicle; however, the driver of the pickup did not use a seatbelt.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff's office. Further details on the incident were not disclosed.
