Blachly, OR – Mock Traffic Crash Educates Students on Dangers of Impaired Driving

Triangle Lake Charter School hosted an “Every 15 Minutes” presentation aimed at educating students about the consequences of impaired driving.
Emergency responders, including Lane County Sheriffs and local firefighters, participated in the event, simulating a traffic crash scenario to illustrate the aftermath of drunk driving. Witnesses reported the involvement of two vehicles, with several students acting as victims.
Authorities confirmed that students were treated by medical personnel on-site, and a mock fatality was included to drive home the seriousness of the topic. Tinsley Wiser, a Lane County Sheriff's deputy, interacted with the students during the scenario to emphasize the real-life implications of impaired driving.
The event was designed to engage students in discussions about safe driving behaviors and the potential consequences of reckless choices. Organizers noted that the simulation aimed to create lasting awareness among the attendees.
