Crash on OR 58 Reopens One Lane, Delays Persist

Union President Advocates for Fire District Formation in Eugene and Springfield

EUGENE, OR – During a press conference on Sept. 2, Brett Deedon, President of IAFF Local 851, urged the cities of Eugene and Springfield to establish a joint fire district.

In traffic news, one lane of OR 58 has reopened 11 miles east of McCredie Springs at milepost 56, following a crash that previously closed the roadway. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), delays remain significant, ranging from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Travelers are advised to consider alternate routes or postpone their trips, as westbound traffic continues to be congested in the area.
