LAKE DELTON, Wis. — Authorities are seeking assistance in identifying a dark-colored sedan implicated in a deadly hit-and-run that occurred on July 20. The crash took place on Interstate 90/94 near US-12 in Sauk County around 1:30 p.m.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, an eastbound SUV collided with a pickup truck, resulting in the pickup being propelled through the median into oncoming westbound traffic. The truck subsequently struck two semi-trucks.
The driver of the pickup, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. Meanwhile, the drivers of the semi-trucks reported minor injuries.
Witnesses noted that the occupants of the SUV, a silver Ford Explorer, fled the scene after a dark-colored sedan arrived to pick them up. This sedan departed before emergency responders arrived to manage the aftermath.
