TOWN OF BURKE, Wis. (WKOW) — A rollover crash on Highway 51 claimed the life of a 48-year-old Madison man Monday morning.
Authorities identified the victim as Righteous M. Durham. Preliminary forensic examination results indicate Durham died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 51 and Acker Road. According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, Durham was ejected from his vehicle after rolling over. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Durham was the sole occupant of the car. Emergency response teams from the Sheriff's Office and local medical units arrived on the scene, but Durham succumbed to his injuries before aid could be rendered.
The road was closed for several hours as investigators assessed the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
