COOPER CITY, Fla. (AP) — A car crash in the Florida suburbs is being attributed to a spider that startled the driver on Tuesday.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred when the driver noticed a spider loose in the vehicle. The white car struck a light pole, which fell into the street in Cooper City, located northwest of Miami.
Photos released by authorities show significant damage to the front end of the car. Additional details about the crash remain limited.
Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Jachles confirmed the one-vehicle crash via Twitter, noting that while the specific type of spider is unknown, it was “not #itsybitsy.”
No injuries have been reported, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
