Plane Crash Claims Lives in Butler, MO, October 3, 2023

BUTLER, MO — A plane crash near Butler occurred at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Tuesday, killing all six passengers on board, authorities confirmed.

The incident took place in a field adjacent to County Road 1000, just east of Highway 71. Emergency response teams, including the BUTLER POLICE DEPARTMENT and the BATES COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE, arrived on the scene shortly after the crash.

First responders reported that despite immediate medical aid, there were no survivors. The aircraft involved was identified as a small private plane.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are on-site to determine the cause of the crash. County officials have established a perimeter around the wreckage as part of the ongoing investigation, according to authorities.
