KOOSKIA, Idaho (CBS2) — A crash involving three motorcycles and a pickup truck resulted in three fatalities Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 12, according to Idaho State Police.
The incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. on June 16, 2026, near milepost 113. Preliminary reports indicate a 2019 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle in a marked no-passing zone, crossing into oncoming traffic.
The three motorcyclists, traveling eastbound, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, authorities said. The driver of the Ford, a 60-year-old woman from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. Following her release, she was arrested on probable cause for three counts of vehicular manslaughter.
The Idaho County Coroner's Office will conduct further identification and investigation into the cause and manner of death for the deceased.
U.S. Highway 12 remained closed for approximately six and a half hours as emergency responders worked at the scene and investigators processed evidence, according to ISP. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
