SHREWSBURY, MA — A fatal crash occurred Monday morning on Route 20, resulting in one death and prompting an ongoing investigation.
Police responded shortly before noon to the collision at the intersection of Hartford Turnpike and Edgemere Boulevard. Authorities reported that a Ford F-250 towing a trailer collided head-on with a Honda Accord, causing secondary damage to a Kenworth oil tanker.
The driver of the Honda Accord was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
Authorities did not confirm any additional injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the roadway may experience lane closures as the investigation continues.
