Police Video Released in Case of Charlie Kirk Shooting Suspect

ST. GEORGE, Utah — Scripps News has obtained police video footage from a 2022 traffic incident involving Tyler Robinson, the man charged with murdering conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

The footage captures the aftermath of a collision between Robinson's Audi and a Ford sedan that was making a left turn at an intersection. Authorities reported that neither driver sustained visible injuries, and no citations were issued.

Robinson, then 19, was recorded explaining the crash to the investigating officer. “(The other driver) would've been there going left, and as I was coming through, he turned in, and I T-boned into the side of him,” he stated.

Throughout the encounter, Robinson appeared cooperative, mentioning he had just topped off the oil in his vehicle and that he was accompanied by his brother at the time. He later requested his mother to come and provide insurance information.

Robinson is currently facing multiple charges, including aggravated murder related to Kirk's death. Prosecutors have announced intentions to pursue the death penalty. In his first court appearance this week, Robinson wore a suicide smock and spoke briefly, identifying himself. Court records indicate he had previously threatened self-harm before peacefully surrendering to authorities, facilitated by family and friends.

The investigation is ongoing.
