Crash Leads to Arrest of Plainfield Man for DUI, Drug Charges

MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) — A 25-year-old man from Plainfield was arrested following a short pursuit that ended in a crash Saturday, according to Indiana State Police (ISP).

At 5 p.m. Saturday, an ISP trooper on State Road 67 near Pugsley Road observed a white sedan traveling southbound at a high speed. The trooper activated his emergency lights to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle accelerated, leading to a pursuit.

The chase continued south on State Road 67 and then turned north onto County Road 800 West toward Daleville. The suspect attempted to enter Interstate 69 southbound but lost control and crashed into a ditch.

Following a high-risk traffic stop, the driver, identified as Jesse Leroy Goble, was taken into custody without incident. Goble was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital for evaluation and was medically cleared.

Authorities later discovered that Goble had active warrants from another county. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia.

Goble has been preliminarily charged with resisting law enforcement, operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangering, , driving while suspected – prior, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia. He is currently held at the Delaware County Jail.
