Selma Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 80

Fatal Crash on U.S. Highway 80 in Lowndes County

A Selma man was killed in a collision on U.S. Highway 80 in Lowndes County early Tuesday morning, October 21.

According to Alabama State Troopers, the crash occurred shortly after 3:30 AM. The victim, 41-year-old Kenneth Watts, was stopped on the highway due to a previous accident when his vehicle was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer driven by 24-year-old Timothy Burgett of Hope Hull.

Following the initial impact, Watts' collided with another vehicle that was also stationary from an earlier crash. Subsequently, it struck a second tractor-trailer, which was also stopped on the highway.

Watts was at the scene. Burgett sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment.

The incident took place within the city limits of White Hall. Authorities indicated that no further information is available at this time.
