Fatal crash in Tuscaloosa County leaves one dead, two injured.

MUSCLE SHOALS, AL — A crash in Tuscaloosa County on Oct. 1 resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman and injuries to two others.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) officials, Alexis N. Randolph of Muscle Shoals was a passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban that left the roadway and struck an embankment around 1:10 p.m. on Rabbit Ridge Road near Davis Creek Road, approximately three miles south of Lake View. Randolph was from the vehicle and at the scene.

Matthew S. Stiles, 32, of Vance, who was driving the vehicle, and another passenger, Jasmine I. Owens, 25, of Clanton, were both and transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Authorities noted that neither Stiles nor Owens were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation by ALEA's Highway Patrol Division. No further details have been released.
