CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is investigating a fatal crash on March 27 involving a Kenwood Middle School and a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) dump truck that resulted in the deaths of two students.

The victims have been identified as 17-year-old Arianna Pearson and 16-year-old Zoe Davis. Authorities confirmed that the bus, driven by Sabrina Ducksworth, crossed into opposing traffic before the collision.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus went over the yellow lines moments before the impact. Ducksworth has no prior incidents recorded in her personnel file from the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System since her hiring in 2021. She received satisfactory performance reviews, but two evaluations noted areas needing improvement.

All of Ducksworth's medical exams have met state standards, with recent evaluations indicating periodic monitoring. The exact nature of her medical conditions has not been confirmed, as Clarksville-Montgomery County School System spokesperson Anthony Johnson stated that Ducksworth complied with all federal medical requirements.

THP is currently in custody of the bus, which is equipped with cameras. The district is unable to release any video footage until the investigation concludes. Further details, including bus maintenance records, are pending.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. More updates will be provided as information becomes available.
