CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Multiple tractor-trailers crashed early Wednesday morning on I-81 northbound in Cumberland County.

The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. near mile marker 28, according to dispatch reports. Debris and various substances were scattered across the roadway due to the crash.

PennDOT confirmed that three tractor-trailers were involved, with one carrying raw chicken that spilled onto the highway. Another semi was transporting mail; the contents of the third vehicle remain unknown.

Lane restrictions are in place between mile marker 24 and mile marker 29, according to 511PA. I-81 northbound is expected to remain closed for several hours. One individual has been transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

As of 9:30 a.m., PennDOT announced that the roadway has reopened.
