EDMOND, Okla. (KOKH) — A Logan County Sheriff's Deputy faces charges of aggravated felony DUI and child endangerment following a crash on March 4.

According to Edmond Police, Deputy Matthew Knox collided with another vehicle around 3 p.m. near 2nd Street and I-35 while transporting his 1-year-old and 5-year-old children. Officers reported that Knox ran a red light prior to the crash.

Witnesses reported observing erratic driving, and body camera footage revealed an officer questioning Knox about his alcohol consumption. He responded that he had “enough.” Knox failed a field sobriety test, admitting in footage, “Dude. Full disclosure. I'm going to jail.”

Authorities reported Knox's blood alcohol content was .21. He sustained minor injuries to his hand; his children were unharmed and subsequently released to their grandparents.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office confirmed Knox's employment status and stated he is currently on administrative leave. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
