BERKS COUNTY, Pa. —
A procession is set for 8 p.m. on June 1 in Berks County to honor Central Berks Police Officer Kristen Yeager, who died in a car crash while on duty.
Yeager, 33, was responding to an emergency request when her patrol car left the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a tree on Friday evening. She succumbed to her injuries that night, leaving behind a husband and three children.
The procession will travel from Reading Hospital to the police station and conclude at Lutz Funeral Home. Authorities are urging residents and businesses along the route to illuminate their lights in blue.
Several landmarks in Reading, including the Reading Pagoda and the Penn Street Bridge, will also be lit in blue to honor Yeager's service.
