Driver in fatal Nashville crash released on bond after being charged.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 24-year-old driver, Kegjhi Majors, surrendered to authorities Monday related to a deadly crash on Elm Hill Pike that occurred on January 31.

According to Metro Nashville Police, Majors was driving a Impala at speeds between 71 and 94 mph in a 45 mph zone when he collided with a driven by David Lagrone, 48. The crash occurred as Lagrone was making a left turn at the intersection of Elm Hill Pike and Ermac Drive.

Both Majors and his passenger were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment and were released. Lagrone succumbed to his injuries days later.

Majors was charged with vehicular homicide by reckless conduct, aggravated assault, driving on a suspended license, and failure to provide proof of financial responsibility. He posted a $13,000 bond after surrendering.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and lane closures along Elm Hill Pike were reported during the emergency response.
