MINOT — A motorcycle crash on Wednesday evening left one man dead and another injured, prompting an investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
At approximately 6:24 p.m. on October 15, a 42-year-old Minot man was riding a Suzuki GSX 1300 motorcycle westbound on 37th Avenue Southwest at a high speed. A juvenile motorist attempted to turn east from 10th Street Southwest in a Dodge Durango, leading to a collision, according to the Highway Patrol.
The motorcycle struck the Durango on the driver's side, and both vehicles came to a stop in the intersection. Emergency responders transported both drivers to Trinity Health-Minot. The motorcyclist, wearing a helmet, succumbed to his injuries, while the juvenile, secured by a seat belt, sustained serious injuries.
The Highway Patrol is seeking public assistance and encourages eyewitnesses or individuals with video footage of the incident to contact them at (701) 328-2447. The crash remains under investigation.
