Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Crash in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A pedestrian was struck and killed early Saturday morning near Iroquois Park.

Just before 3:30 a.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Platka Road and Manslick Road. Investigators say a man driving a pickup truck northbound on St. Andrews Church Road entered the intersection and hit a person attempting to cross Manslick Road.

The pedestrian, wearing dark clothing and not in a crosswalk, was at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck immediately stopped and is cooperating with the investigation.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. LMPD's traffic unit is conducting the investigation.
