LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 15 near Jean on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:11 p.m. on northbound I-15 at mile marker 12, according to Trooper Shawn Haggstrom with Nevada State Police Highway Patrol. An adult woman was transported to a hospital by medical helicopter with significant injuries.
Authorities closed the northbound lanes of I-15 during the response and investigation, forcing traffic to exit at State Route 161. This led to several miles of congestion on the interstate.
All lanes were reopened by 2:05 p.m., according to Haggstrom. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
