LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A 72-year-old woman was killed in a two-car collision Monday night in southeast Las Vegas.
The crash occurred at 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of Mountain Vista Street and Rawhide Street, just north of Russell Road, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD).
Authorities said a Mitsubishi Outlander was turning left from Mountain Vista onto Rawhide when it was struck on the passenger side by a Toyota Solara traveling south on Mountain Vista. The impact caused the Mitsubishi to crash into a curb and roll onto its driver's side.
Medical personnel pronounced the 72-year-old female passenger of the Mitsubishi dead at the scene. Both drivers sustained moderate injuries and were transported to University Medical Center (UMC) for treatment.
LVMPD officials stated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
