One Killed in Pickup Truck Crash in Stoneham
STONEHAM, ME – A pickup truck crashed into a tree on Main Street around 9:30 p.m. Friday, resulting in one fatality.
According to the Oxford County Sheriff's Office, Ashley Gordon, 31, of Bethel was killed in the accident. Her two children, who were in the backseat, sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were transported to a nearby hospital. The driver, Terrence Gordon, 30, also of Bethel, was unharmed.
Authorities reported that part of Route 5 was closed for approximately three hours while the Maine State Police reconstructed the scene.
Investigators are looking into the presence of another vehicle in the vicinity at the time of the crash and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
Stoneham is located northwest of Waterford, near the Maine-New Hampshire border.
