PORT SHELDON TWP., MICH. — A driver was to a hospital in serious but stable condition following a two-vehicle crash on US-31 on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on southbound US-31 at Croswell Street. A Explorer reportedly pulled back onto the highway, colliding with a Chevy Silverado, which subsequently rolled into a ditch.

Firefighters extricated the driver of the Silverado, who was then flown to a local hospital.

Authorities are currently searching for a white 2016 Titan, which reportedly left the scene before emergency responders arrived.

Both directions of US-31 were closed following the crash, with northbound lanes reopening by 11 p.m. and southbound expected to be cleared by midnight. Southbound US-31 was shut down at Taylor Street during the investigation.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the Nissan Titan to come forward.
