One man is dead following a multi-motorcycle crash on Highway 61 near Two Harbors on Saturday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the group of motorcycles was traveling northbound when several riders crashed just after exiting the Silver Creek Cliff Tunnel at approximately 12:30 p.m. Multiple motorcycles then veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Volkswagen Jetta in the southbound lane.
One motorcyclist, identified as 31-year-old Alexander Wayne Otis of Bruno, was pronounced dead at the scene. Several other riders sustained injuries, although their conditions have not been disclosed. The two women inside the Volkswagen were unharmed.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation by authorities. Lane closures were reported as a result of the incident, and vehicle towing was initiated.
