One person died in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in south Aurora, authorities said.
The collision occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Iliff Avenue and Blackhawk Street, just east of Interstate 225. According to police, one driver—the sole occupant of what authorities described as the “victim vehicle”—died at the scene. The two individuals in the “suspect vehicle” were transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.
As of 3 p.m., Iliff Avenue at Blackhawk Street was closed to all traffic for cleanup and investigation. Additionally, eastbound Iliff was shut down at Interstate 225, and westbound became impassable at Sable Boulevard.
Authorities have not yet released information on the cause of the crash or whether any charges are pending.
