LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A 48-year-old man died Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash in east Las Vegas.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the incident occurred around 9:23 a.m. at East Owens Avenue and North 23rd Street. A motorcycle, reported stolen, was traveling east on Owens Avenue when a Chevrolet Equinox failed to yield and turned left onto 23rd Street, crossing the motorcycle's path.
The collision resulted in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His death marks the 63rd traffic-related fatality within LVMPD's jurisdiction this year.
The driver of the Equinox sustained non-life-threatening injuries and remained at the scene. Authorities said the driver did not show signs of impairment.
LVMPD is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
