DENVER — A motorcycle crash early Sunday morning on S. Federal Boulevard resulted in one fatality and led to the arrest of the driver, according to the Denver Police Department.
The incident occurred around 2:41 a.m. at the intersection of S. Federal Boulevard and W. Virginia Avenue. Police reported that the passenger of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator, identified as Mario Flores Ruiz-Esparza, 25, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities confirmed he was later arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft; however, it remains unclear if the motorcycle was stolen.
Investigators are currently determining the cause of the crash. No information is available regarding the involvement of any other vehicles.
