One killed, one injured in Aurora red light crash
Aurora, CO — One person was killed and another injured in a crash involving a ride-share vehicle Monday night.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. near North Laredo Street and East Sixth Avenue. According to the Aurora Police Department, a Toyota RAV4 ran a red light, colliding with the rear of the ride-share sedan and ripping off its rear door.
Paramedics transported both the ride-share driver and passenger to the hospital. The passenger later died; identification will be provided by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office.
The driver of the Toyota, who has not been publicly named, is cooperating with police. Police stated that drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
As of now, authorities have not confirmed whether the Toyota driver will face charges.
