Ohio Abduction Triggers Police Chase That Ends in Crash in Northern Kentucky

WALTON, Ky. — On April 14, a Northern Kentucky police pursuit ended in a crash in Walton, sending multiple people, including a deputy, to hospitals.

Authorities said three people were transported, including the suspect and a child. The suspect was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The child was taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital for minor injuries.

According to the Independence Police Department, officers located a vehicle tied to an Ohio child abduction around 7 p.m. in Kenton County and joined a multi-agency pursuit that continued into Boone County.

Independence Police said charges for fleeing and wanton endangerment will be filed. The Boone County Sheriff's Office and Ohio agencies also plan criminal charges related to the case.

Authorities did not immediately release the roadway, direction of travel, number of vehicles involved, information, or tow details. The investigation is ongoing.
