Police Identify Driver and Passenger Killed in COTA Bus Crash

Two people died when an struck a COTA around 12:30 a.m. June 27 near Mock and Sunbury roads on Columbus' Northeast Side.

According to the Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit, a Central Ohio Transit Authority bus was heading east on Mock Road and preparing to turn into the northbound lanes of Sunbury Road.

A black Q5 traveling south on Sunbury Road entered the intersection and hit the bus, authorities said. The bus had the green light to turn left, police said.

The Audi's driver, Antwoine O'Neal Jr., 32, of Georgia, and passenger Dominique Williams, 33, died at the scene from their injuries, according to police.

The COTA bus driver was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center for treatment, and the bus's sole passenger was treated at the scene, authorities said.

The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
