ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WSBT) — One person is in custody following a Saturday night crash involving a police officer on Ironwood Road.
According to authorities, the officer was traveling south when a vehicle attempted to turn onto Dunn Road, colliding with the police cruiser. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene but was later located inside a nearby residence and taken into custody.
Police suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the incident. The officer involved was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details regarding lane closures or additional vehicles have been released.
