Motorcyclist Dies from Injuries Sustained in Hypoluxo Road Crash

LANTANA, FL — A 27-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash on Hypoluxo Road on April 9.

Authorities said Stanley Jacques succumbed to his injuries at St. Mary's Medical Center on April 24. Witnesses reported that Jacques was traveling east on Hypoluxo Road when he collided with a 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan.

Jacques was initially taken to St. Mary's with severe injuries. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO), deputies attempted to stop Jacques after observing in a food mart parking lot. Investigators noted he fled, briefly veered into a grassy area, and ultimately crashed.

Video footage obtained by WPTV shows a PBSO deputy deploying a Taser moments before Jacques sped off. PBSO stated that the Taser did not make contact with him, and no deputies have been placed on leave.

The investigation remains active, with authorities currently assessing whether Jacques was affected by the deployment of the Taser. Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
