TURNER COUNTY, S.D. — A Parker woman died Thursday in a single-vehicle crash on 451st Avenue.
The incident occurred at 6:12 p.m. on August 27, approximately 6 miles northwest of Parker. According to authorities, a 61-year-old woman was driving a 2019 Toyota RAV4 northbound when she left the roadway.
The vehicle crossed over a culvert, rolled, and ended up upside down in a shallow pond. The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered fatal injuries. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Further details are preliminary.
