KANSAS CITY, MO (October 10, 2023) — A motorcycle crash on Interstate 70 resulted in serious injuries Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the Blue Ridge Boulevard exit. Authorities reported that two motorcycles were involved in the collision, resulting in two riders sustaining severe injuries.
Emergency response teams, including the Kansas City Fire Department and local police, arrived on the scene promptly. Both individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
As a result of the crash, eastbound lanes of I-70 were temporarily closed for investigation and debris clearance. The area was cleared by 8:00 p.m., and normal traffic resumed shortly thereafter.
According to police, no fatalities were reported. Investigators are looking into the cause of the accident, and further details are pending.
This incident marks the sixth motorcycle crash to cause serious injury or death in the Kansas City area this month.
