A Dixon, Missouri, man died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Monday morning on I-44.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) records, the 2009 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic was traveling west near the 230.6-mile marker when it veered off the right side of the road and struck a mile-marker sign at approximately 1:27 a.m.
The 47-year-old male driver was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained critical injuries.
He was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m.
MSHP confirmed that the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
