WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A motorcyclist died early Saturday morning after a collision with a pickup truck on Southern Boulevard, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
The crash occurred around 5 a.m. in the 8100 block of Southern Boulevard. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:06 a.m.
Authorities said a 2023 Suzuki GSXR-1000 was traveling westbound when a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado exited a parking lot and made a wide right turn across all lanes of traffic.
The motorcycle struck the left rear of the pickup truck, causing the motorcyclist to be thrown into the eastbound lanes. The pickup came to a stop near the median.
The victim was identified as 33-year-old Eury Abreu Herrera, of West Palm Beach. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The pickup truck driver, 31-year-old Diosdel Alonso, was wearing a seat belt and sustained no injuries. Investigators indicated that drugs and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Traffic Division is conducting the investigation. Charges are pending.
