LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle crash involving a pickup truck and two other vehicles on Saturday, just before 6 p.m. at East Charleston Boulevard and South Christy Lane, according to Las Vegas Police.
Authorities reported that a Yamaha MT09, driven eastbound by a man, and an Infiniti G37 were approaching the intersection when the collision occurred. A Chevrolet Silverado was westbound on East Charleston Boulevard, while a Toyota Highlander was stopped northbound on South Christy Lane. A Mazda 3 was also westbound, trailing the Silverado.
The crash unfolded as the Chevrolet turned south onto Christy Lane, crossing into the path of the Yamaha and Infiniti. The impact sent all three vehicles eastward, igniting the Chevrolet. Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was ejected and landed in the roadway.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced the Yamaha rider dead at the scene, with the drivers of the Infiniti and Toyota, as well as a passenger in the Toyota, taken to University Medical Center for injuries ranging from minor to substantial.
Police confirmed that no drivers involved showed signs of impairment. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section is handling the ongoing investigation.
