The driver of the motorcycle was identified as a 48-year-old man from St. Joseph, Missouri.
ORIGINAL:
A motorcyclist is dead following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Cooper County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at mile marker 99, east of Missouri 135, at approximately 2:41 p.m. The motorcycle operator was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eastbound lanes were backed up to mile marker 97 after the collision, with the passing lane reopened later. Authorities remained on site for the investigation.
No additional injuries or fatalities were reported, and a towing service was called to the scene.
