TOWN OF BENTON, Wis. — A serious motorcycle crash occurred Monday, resulting in a 79-year-old man from Illinois being airlifted for medical treatment. The incident took place as Robert Carlisle, a resident of Galena, Illinois, was riding eastbound on County Highway W, approaching the intersection with Dump Road.
According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office, Carlisle lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve. This caused him to veer off the roadway, collide with a fence, and ultimately be thrown from the motorcycle.
Emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene, including deputies from the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office, Benton Fire and First Responders, and Hazel Green EMS. Carlisle was airlifted by UW Medflight to UW Hospital in Madison due to the severity of his injuries. The motorcycle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the crash site.
