LEWIS COUNTY, Ky. (WCHS) — A head-on collision resulted in one fatality in Lewis County on Wednesday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Kentucky Route 10 near Harrison Hollow Road. A westbound pickup truck attempted to pass another vehicle in a designated passing zone and collided with an oncoming pickup truck, State Police reported.
Four individuals were transported to Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville for injuries sustained in the crash. Charles A. Corns, 21, of Garrison, Ky., was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Authorities stated that low visibility due to heavy fog may have contributed to the accident. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
