Man Dies in Single-Car Crash in Lee County

A 19-year-old man died following a single-car crash in Lee County today at approximately 10:57 a.m.
According to Alabama State Troopers, Devon Nicholas Bellar-Yates of Salem was driving when his vehicle left the roadway and overturned about 13 miles east of Opelika on Lee County Road 158. Authorities reported that Bellar-Yates was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Emergency responders transported him to East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, where he later died from his injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional information regarding lane closures or tow details has been released at this time.
