A Monroe City man died Thursday after a two-vehicle crash in Shelby County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 1:25 p.m. when a 2000 Ford F-150 entered Highway 36 at the MO-15 entrance ramp.
Records indicate the Ford merged into westbound lanes while traveling eastbound, colliding with a 2020 Volvo Conventional tractor-trailer.
The 47-year-old male driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:54 p.m.
Authorities reported no injuries to the driver of the Volvo. Emergency responders remained on site to manage the situation.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 36 experienced temporary closures while the scene was cleared and an investigation was conducted.
