Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Franklin County on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 2025 Dodge Durango patrol vehicle was traveling northbound on MO-185 at Hawthorn Drive just before 4 p.m.
A 2019 Ram 1500, attempting a left turn, failed to yield and struck the patrol vehicle's side. The impact caused the Dodge to spin, while the Ram skidded off the road and crashed into an embankment.
The 34-year-old driver of the patrol vehicle sustained injuries and was transported to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital by EMS.
The 84-year-old driver of the Ram, from Sullivan, suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.
MSHP confirmed that both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
