Families of American Eagle Flight 5342 Victims to Hold Press Conference in D.C.

WASHINGTON (7News) — Families of the passengers who died in the January 29 mid-air collision involving American Eagle Flight 5342 will hold a press conference Wednesday at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Scheduled for 2 p.m., the event will feature relatives of several victims, including 40-year-old Casey Grafton, who was aboard Flight 5342 when it collided with a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport. A total of 67 people lost their lives in the incident.

Attorneys representing the families will also attend the conference. This announcement comes following National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) hearings in July that examined the Army helicopter and air traffic control operations.

The NTSB is expected to release its final report on the crash next year.
