More than 310,000 Mercedes-Benz vehicles are being recalled due to a potential safety defect regarding door switches.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affected vehicles may experience a failure in the door switch, leading to a risk of rollaway incidents. The micro-switch in the driver's door lock could corrode, preventing the electronic parking brake or ‘Auto-Park' feature from engaging automatically.
The recall affects 310,667 vehicles, including models from 2019 to 2026. A list of impacted models includes:
- 2019-2022 Mercedes-Benz A 220
- 2019-2022 Mercedes-Benz A 220 4MATIC
- 2020-2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG A35
- 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 4MATIC
- Additional models from the AMG lineup, C-Class, CLA, GLB, and GLC series.
Per the recall notice, this issue increases the risk of a crash or injury.
