Westwood, MA – A Massachusetts State Police trooper was hospitalized following a secondary crash involving their cruiser on I-95 northbound Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred near University Avenue at approximately 8:35 a.m., involving two vehicles in the initial collision. Authorities confirmed that the trooper's cruiser was struck due to this prior crash.
The trooper sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. At least one other individual from the initial crash also reported minor injuries.
All northbound lanes were reopened around 9:40 a.m. The cause of the incident is under investigation, according to State Police.
