Seminole Man Survives Lightning Strike Outside Pizza Shop
A Seminole man narrowly escaped death after being struck by lightning outside Rizzotto's Pizzeria on Friday.
According to Travis Kurtz, who collapsed immediately after the strike, he is grateful to be alive. He credits the quick actions of the pizzeria owner, his girlfriend, and others for providing immediate assistance.
Emergency services arrived shortly after the incident, which occurred in the afternoon. Medical personnel treated Kurtz on-site before transporting him to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Kurtz described the experience as miraculous, saying, “By the Grace of God, I'm still here,” emphasizing his appreciation for those who helped him.
Authorities have not reported any other injuries related to the incident, and there were no lane closures or traffic disruptions as a result. The investigation into circumstances surrounding the lightning strike is ongoing.
